As a Marketing and Sales Development Representative, you will  responsible for supporting both marketing and sales development for community financial institutions, driving market share and qualifying leads that build Financial Institution pipeline for the FI Sales organization. 

You will also be responsible for running campaigns focused on inbound/outbound contacts, developing and qualifying leads to the point of handoff to the sales force.  The MSDR will significantly contribute to the growth of our business.


You will interact with senior management (sales and marketing) and provide input on the sales process.

With high performance, this role will lead to the next level of career progression to be trained to become a FI Sales Consultant.  This role will have a direct and substantial impact on Buzz Points’ footprint and top-line results.

MDR duties and responsibilities:

  • Actively prospect for leads through emails, calling, social media, introductions, etc.

  • Receives requests prospects who want more information, researches and contacts them immediately.

  • Research to find new contacts, updating email addresses/domains and overall information for various Financial Institutions.

  • Create marketing and sales content in various formats including email copy, blog content, and any other formats or projects that may come up.

  • Executing marketing campaigns to drive sales prospects, via:

    • Email Marketing (through SalesForce Pardot)

    • Social Media Marketing (LinkedIn content distribution)

    • Web Marketing (through content on our corporate site)

    • Opportunities to support in-person events down the road (post-COVID)

  • Assist with developing creative and impactful marketing concepts and copy, varying from infographic copy to one-pagers, email copy to blog ideas.

  • Analyze, report and present results of various A/B testing to inform team on performance of current campaigns and to make decisions on future campaigns.

  • Scheduling introductory calls between inbound leads and sales representatives.

SDR duties and responsibilities:

  • Qualify sales leads/targets from marketing-driven campaigns, including detailed needs analysis, product overview, and potential solution fit.

  • Contact new prospects via phone, chats and email to discuss and understand their needs and to explain how these needs could be met by our programs.

  • Perform research on companies as a component of lead generation and qualification activities utilizing the web and other research tools available.

  • Update prospect database with conversations, competitive information, company size, decision making criteria and other pertinent information.

  • Educate clients/prospects/targets on the Buzz Points value proposition.

  • Meet or exceed all sales targets and performance metrics.

  • Maintain a CRM (Salesforce) with leads and effectively manage an account set, keep detailed and accurate notes of all sales related activities.

  • Communicate with the BP management team and team members to increase client satisfaction, conversion and drive overall sales and marketing improvements.

  • Meet and/or exceed monthly performance targets for number of outbound-generated leads, qualified leads passed and pipeline contribution.

  • Special projects and other duties will be assigned as needed.

In a nutshell, you must have an ability to understand business needs, develop relationships with executives, and map Buzz Points platform technology solutions to those business needs of community financial institutions.

  • High level of intellectual horsepower with strong business acumen and excellent judgment.


  • 1-2 years’ experience in business, high volume, fast-paced inside sales environment is ideal.

  • Understanding of the nuances of a Financial Services Institution (i.e. banking regulations, mechanisms of fee-based income versus not-interest income, payment mechanics, industry trends, etc.).

  • Experience developing marketing and sales content.

  • Familiarity with the rewards economy (social, local, mobile).
